Mexico: Translators associations from the country of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera

Translators Associations Latin AmericaMexico is a federal constitutional republic, comprising thirty-one states and a Federal District, the capital city, commonly included in what is called the Latin America. It is bordered on the north by the United States of America and covers almost two million square kilometers.

With an estimated population of over 113 million, it is the eleventh most populous country and the most populous Spanish-speaking country.

Mexico has one of the world's largest economies and its culture reflects the complexity of the country's history through the blending of indigenous cultures and the culture of Spain.

Mexican has some notable people who became famous for their work, like the writers Alfonso Reyes, Carlos Fuentes and Octavio Paz, the painters Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, the director Alejandro González Iñárritu, the actors Guillermo del Toro and Gael García Bernal, and the screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga.

One of the konwn Mexican translators associations is OMT. This translators association is a civil organization that was established in 1992 to promote and support the profession of translators and interpreters.

Another translators association, founded in 1982, is devoted to uniting professional interpreters.

ATIMAC is a translators association that exists since 1980 and has been an important instrument to improve the practice and status of translators and interpreters in the Mexican community.
