Angola: A growing economy where the translation is vital

Translators Associations Africa: AngolaLocated on the west coast of Africa, Angola, whose capital is Luanda, is a former Portuguese colony that gained independence in 1975. The economy that is one of five African Countries of Portuguese Official Language (PALOP) and has a population that exceeds 13 million people has been growing strongly - Angola is the second largest oil producer and exporter of sub-Saharan Africa diamonds in the world - while maintaining a level of very low human development.

In its research, Lexis couldn't find any translators associations in Angola, which does not mean that there isn't an interpreters and translators association in the African country.

Considering that Angola is experiencing a period of national reconstruction and strong construction and is therefore the new Eldorado of construction companies (but also other sectors) from countries where one does not speak Portuguese, like China, translation and interpretation play a vital role.

If you are aware of or responsible by any translators association in Angola, please send us details of your translation association using the email address editorial@lexis.pro.

And if, by any chance, you are at this time joining forces to create an interpreters and translators association in Angola, please contact us so that Lexis can help you with its own experience.

In either case, consider yourself invited to become a member of our community and take advantage of what Lexis and our partners have to offer. For example, by becoming a Premium member of this translators community, Lexis and Red Horse - an associated project - offer you a complete and customizable multilingual non-disclosure agreement to sign together with your customers.

The other Portuguese-speaking African countries that make up the PALOP - former colonies of Portugal in Africa, which gained independence between 1973 and 1975 - are Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and Sao Tome and Principe.
