Croatia is becoming increasingly famous for its beaches. But this was the country that invented the cravat, or necktie, worn by men. Croatia is officially the Republic of Croatia, a unitary democratic parliamentary republic in Europe at the crossroads of Central Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean. The country is divided into 20 counties and the capital city of Zagreb. The population is of over 4 million inhabitants.
