Slovakia: Translators Associations in the homeland of Ivan Reitman

translators association europeThe Slovak Republic is a landlocked state in Central Europe. It has a population of over five million and an area of about 49,000 square kilometres (19,000 square miles). The country was part of Czechoslovakia, together with the Czech Republic, until 1993’s peaceful dissolution. Slovakia is a country of landscapes, including many renowned sky resorts. It is also a high-income advanced economy with one of the fastest growth rates in the European Union and the OECD.

Lexis estimates there are at least 3 national translators associations in Slovakia.

One of the most important translation associations in the country is SSPOL, which joins scientific and technical translators. Another Slovak translators association is the one that concerns translation companies, ATCSK. There is also the translators association that unites translators and interpreters, SAPT.

In addition, JTP, which is a translators association based in the Czech Republic, also has some Slovak members.
