Translators Associations Europe: ASATI
Translating in the area of the Pyrenees
The Aragonese Association of Translators and Interpreters (Asociación Aragonesa de Traductores e Intérpretes or ASATI) is a non-profit organization that tries to bring together translators and interpreters living in Aragon or bounded to the land for any reason.
This translators association was established in October of 2002 with the purpose of promoting unity and cooperation among the translators and interpreters of Aragon and act on their behalf in all areas.
Here are some of this translation association's goals: defending the rights and interests of professional translators and interpreters; reporting to members on technical, legal, academic or work matters; organizing training activities; disseminating cultural information relating to the profession; supporting future professionals; and promoting relations with other translators associations and institutions related to this activity.
Without question, ASATI's website is an important tool to develop these activities and achieve this translators association's goals.
For instance, if you're looking for a professional to adjudicate a translation, interpretation or revision, there's a directory of translators and interpreters on ASATI's website you'll find helpful.
Professional training is one of ASATI's main objectives. The association offers its members and any person related to the profession a full calendar of training activities, workshops, lectures, round tables and other events.
In addition to accessing all these activities, members have the possibility of obtaining financial assistance to attend courses, conferences and other activities.
Keep in mind that Spanish is spoken not only in Aragon and Spain, a country with 39,4 million inhabitants, but also in populous countries like Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.
