Costa Rica: Translators associations from the "rich coast"

Translators Associations Latin AmericaCosta Rica – which literally means "rich coast" – is a country in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.

Costa Rica is the only Latin American country included in the list of the world's 22 older democracies and has consistently been among the top Latin American countries in the Human Development Index. It was also the only country to meet the criteria established to measure environmental sustainability.

Once the point where the Mesoamerican and South American native cultures met, Costa Rica gave birth to prominent contemporary authors like Alfonso Chase, who won the 2000 Magón Culture Award, the nation's highest honor in the field, or José Joaquín Gutiérrez, creator of Cocorí, the little negrito cartoon character.
