Reaching the Mobile World from France

Paris will receive a Localization World (LW) conference between 4 and 6 of June this year. The theme is "Reaching the Mobile World" and the conference itself will be held in the last two days of the event. The first one, the "preconference day", will be completed with scheduled seminars.

Localization World is produced by the Localization Institute and MultiLingual Computing, Inc, the entity who's also responsible for the magazine MultiLingual. And this event is of interest to transtalors associations, translation agencies and freelance professionals for sure. This is a chance to ear speakers like Mike Abbott (senior quality engineering manager that works at Adobe Systems for 15 years), Manal Amin (founder and CEO of Arabize) or Michaela Bartelt (European localization director for Electronic Arts). You can check out the list of speakers attending the event on the LW website.

The program includes the already said preconference day and seminars (preconference sessions – workshops and round tables – are offered full-day, morning and afternoon), full and half day seminars and working groups, the opening night reception and the conference itself (5 and 6 June), that includes keynote presentations, five tracks, exhibits, an evening social event, the closing session and the awards ceremony.

These are the five tracks of the conference: Global Business – experienced business people provide practical insights for companies that want to venture with confidence into new international markets –, Global Web – leading companies, each with an outstanding web presence, offer their expertise for launching and maintaining a worldwide web platform –, Localization Core Competencies – an introductory track for companies that need to localize, but are unsure where to start –, Advanced Localization Management – this track, the heart of Localization World, continues to provide the latest information on trends, processes, technologies and influences that shape the world of localization – and Inside Track – special format sessions for deepening understanding of select topics and sessions that stimulate collaboration and community.

Online registration is now open on Localization World's website. To have access to the full conference, the fees are 875 EUR until 19.00 Paris time, 9 April 2012 and 975 EUR until 19.00 Paris time, 28 May 2012. After that the fee will be 1.075 EUR. For a single day, you'll have to pay 550 EUR until 19.00 Paris time, 9 April 2012, 600 EUR until 19.00 Paris time, 28 May 2012 and 650 EUR after that. There's also a dinner on tuesday, 5 June.
